Team displayed near total domination of Formula 1 season When Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone complains that Mercedes-Benz’s success has not been good for the F1 show, it’s inevitable the public might think the same. The Mercedes F1 Team, however, is not complaining. In the 2014 and 2015 seasons, Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg combined to win 36 of 38 poles and 32 of the 38 races, with either weather or a rare mechanical issue impacting the six losses. “The numbers are going to end up in some book on the shelf,” Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff told Autoweek. “I think it’s important that we continue to develop the team. We really enjoy working with each other, the spirits are high. We expect the others to catch up—it’s just a matter of time that the learning curves are going to cross.
